Biography   Irene Margaret Bowen Robinson (from AskArt)

Irene Margaret Bowen Robinson was active/lived in California.  Irene Robinson is known for still life painting, book illustration.

 

Born in South Bend, WA on Nov. 27, 1891, Irene Bowen settled in Los Angeles in 1906. She studied at Drury College, University of Chicago, with John F. Carlson, and, after returning to Los Angeles in 1921, at Otis and Chouinard Art Institutes. In 1923 she married writer William Robinson. She was active in the local art scene while painting and illustrating her husband's children's books. Her painting subjects include wildflowers, landscapes, old buildings, and animals. 
She died in Santa Monica on Jan. 22, 1973.
